Second Class Bricks

Hard, dense, over-burnt bricks that are very tough. Well suited to flat brick soling, road base and foundation beds.
Brick Chips — Big
Coarse chips broken from well-burnt bricks. Use them for base courses, lean concrete, road sub-base and foundation fill.

What is an auto brick?
An auto brick is moulded by machine in a semi-automatic or automatic plant instead of by hand. Auto bricks have a uniform size, sharp edges and flat faces, so walls come out straighter and need thinner mortar joints and less plaster.
How many bricks do I need for a 1,000 sqft house?
As a rough guide, a single-storey 1,000 sqft house with 10″ outer walls, 5″ partition walls and brick foundation needs about 28,500 bricks, including 5% wastage. Without foundation brickwork it is about 19,700. A two-storey house with 1,000 sqft per floor needs about 48,000. What is the size of an auto brick in Bangladesh?
The standard Bangladeshi brick is about 9.5″ × 4.5″ × 2.75″ (240 × 115 × 70 mm). With a 10 mm mortar joint, a 5″ wall uses about 4.6 bricks per sqft and a 10″ wall about 9.4. Ask us to confirm the exact dimensions of the batch you're ordering.

Pickets are hard, over-burnt bricks for flat soling, road base and foundation beds. Brick chips (khoa) are used as aggregate in concrete, base courses and road work. Brick dust (surki) goes into lime-surki mortar, plaster mixes and filling. Brick waste is a low-cost material for land filling and raising a site.
